This research aims to analyze the philosophical reasons for Husein Muhammad's thoughts about importance of equal distribution inheritance between men and women in Islamic law, as well method legal reform that he uses when understanding verses inheritance. is field research. Data was collected through virtual interviews. analysis descriptive qualitative, with maslahah theory, historical sociological approaches. The findings show one why need be reinterpreted, according Husein, because these fall into category mutashabihat (interpretable) so they reinterpreted by looking at current context. Another reason regulate section 2:1 Prophet's era were only intended context society time, where had no rights, even used objects Nowadays, existence growing.
